The Work with Families

The work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families is intense. The real work begins in infancy.

The work we do in infancy brings us closer to families and there are always ideas about "the best" way to help a baby or how much to help a baby. There are so many ideas and beliefs that communication is vital. That is what this blog is about. It is an effort to bring professionals and para-professionals together to talk about the research completed in infant/family programs and to share ideas about the work that we do.

Testing New Ideas

I've been reading e-newsletters and blogs to learn more about how to share information. For those of you who are following my blog I do hope you'll post comments.

This Friday is a conference for the Ounce of Prevention Fund. They host a really nice conference that surrounds professionals with new information, confirmation of a job well done, and sharing of ideas. I will be presenting a workshop in the morning and I always enjoy learning during the rest of the day. This is a conference that I find stimulating and interesting.

  1. I enjoyed reading the article "We All Can Help Keep Children Safe." I believe that we sometimes get so caught up in our work and education that we forget to check in with our little ones or even their siblings. We should all take a deep breath and pay close attention to the little faces around us. The article brought me back to the classroom (work), where I have many duties. Keeping our children safe is my Number 1 Goal. If we don't watch over them, who will? Remember in any situation, "When We Listen to the little voices and Watch for signs of abuse, We Learn more about what's happening in their lives." They are our FUTURE.
